Autodesk Alias Design 2014 SP1

 

This readme contains the latest information regarding the use of this software release. For reference, you should save this readme to your hard drive or print a copy.

Install Alias 2014 SP3 by selecting the relevant drive containing the Alias product. To install SR1-SP1 on Alias 2014 with SR1. Download the SR1-SP1 patch to a temporary directory on the workstation. Double-click the SR1-SP1 dmg file to open the install folder. Similarly, you are blocked if you have Alias Surface 2014 with SP1 and/or SP2 installed, and you attempt to install Alias Automotive 2014. This issue occurs only in the combination of Alias Automotive and Alias Surface. A combination of Alias Automotive and Alias Design OR a combination of Alias Design and Alias Surface is unaffected by this issue.

  • Microsoft® Windows® 8 x64, Microsoft® Windows® 7 Sp1 x32 & x64
  • 2 GHz Intel or equivalent AMD Opteron™ processor
  • 2 GB RAM (4 GB or more highly recommended)
  • Disk space requirements
    For Autodesk® Alias® Automotive software: 6 GB free hard disk space
    For Autodesk® Alias® Surface software: 4 GB free hard disk space
    For Autodesk® Alias® Design: 4 GB free hard disk space
  • Supported NVIDIA® or ATI graphics card with a minimum of 256 MB dedicated texture memory*
  • DVD-ROM drive
  • Three-button mouse
  • Wacom graphics tablet for sketching
  • .NET 4.0 framework
  • Adobe® Acrobat® Reader version 6 or higher, from http://www.adobe.com to view the PDF documentation.

*Graphics card and driver must fully support the OpenGL® 2.0 specification in order to take advantage of the advanced hardware rendering features.

Autodesk Alias Student Download

  • Apple® Mac OS® X 10.7.x or 10.8
  • 2 GB RAM (4G or more recommended)
  • DVD-ROM drive
  • A three-button mouse (or a mouse that can emulate three-buttons, such as a Mighty Mouse)
  • Supported OpenGL-capable graphics card with 256 MB (full OpenGL 2.0 support is required). Refer to http://www.autodesk.com/qual-charts.
  • 1280x1024 screen resolution. Set your display to show millions of colors.
  • Disk space requirements
    4GB free hard disk space for Alias Automotive 2014
    2GB free hard disk space for Alias Surface 2014
    3GB free hard disk space for Alias Design 2014
  • Apple QuickTime® and Preview (to view the PDF documentation).
  • QuickTime and Preview are provided with the Mac operating system. You can also download Adobe® Acrobat® Reader version 6 or higher, from http://www.adobe.com to view the PDF documentation.
  • Apple® Safari™ Web browser is required to view the online help.
  • QuickTime player (version 7) to create and view QTVR files. The QuickTime 7 software is available at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download.
  • Flash plug-in to view animated tutorial sequences in your browser. Free plug-ins are available from http://www.flash.com.
  • Set the mouse buttons as follows:
    Left mouse button: click
    Middle mouse button: middle mouse button
    Right mouse button: contextual menu/right mouse button

Use standard mouse driver option settings. Do not, for example, set the middle mouse button to work as a double-click of the left button. A wheel mouse (such as Apple Mighty Mouse) should operate as a 3-button mouse. If not, reconfigure it in your System Preferences.

Installation Requirements

  • Administrator privileges on your local machine to install Autodesk Alias 2014.
  • Sufficient disk space, refer to requirements above.
  • Serial Number and Product Key, provided by Autodesk at point of purchase.
